The Pacific Spaceport Complex – Alaska (PSCA), formerly known as the Kodiak Launch Complex, is a commercial and military spaceport for sub-orbital and orbital launch vehicles located on Kodiak Island. The complex, established in 1998, covers 3,700 acres and is owned and operated by Alaska Aerospace Corporation, a government-owned corporation. It was closed for two years following a 2014 launch failure that caused significant damage. The facility reopened in 2016 after repairs and upgrades, including the signing of a multi-year contract with the Missile Defense Agency. The PSCA supports a variety of launch vehicles and has two launch pads and a mission control center. Its infrastructure includes a clean room for satellite preparation, a rocket assembly building, and range and telemetry systems.
